The Ministry of Education (MOE), Government of India (GOI) has established National Testing Agency (NTA) as an independent autonomous and self-sustained premier examining organization under the Societies Registration Act, 1860 for conducting efficient, transparent and international standards exams in order to assess the competency of candidates for admissions to premier higher educational institutions.

Sainik Schools Society (SSS) is an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Defence, Govt of India. The Society runs Sainik Schools. Sainik Schools are English medium residential schools affiliated to Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Sainik Schools prepare Cadets to join the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla (Pune), Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala and other Training Academies for officers. At present there are a total of 33 Sainik Schools across the country.

Sainik Schools offer admission at the level of Class VI and Class IX. Admission is based on the performance of candidates in the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE).

Ministry of Defence (MoD) has approved 35 New Sainik Schools, which operate in partnership with NGOs/private schools/State Governments. These approved New Sainik Schools function under the aegis of Sainik Schools Society. These approved New Sainik Schools offer admission to the Sainik School stream of Class VI, through AISSEE 2024.

AISSEE 2024 Application Form

The All India Sainik Schools Entrance Exam (AISSEE) is a national-level entrance examination for admission to Class VI and Class IX in Sainik Schools and New Sainik Schools across India. Here are some key details about AISSEE 2024:

  1. Eligibility:
    • For Class VI: Candidates must be between 10 and 12 years old as of March 31, 2024.
    • For Class IX: Candidates must be between 13 and 15 years old as of March 31, 2024.
    • Both boys and girls are eligible to apply.
  2. Application Process:
    • The AISSEE application form for 2024 was available online.
    • Eligible candidates could register through the official website at AISSEE.ntaonline.in.
    • The application window concluded on December 20, 2023.
    • A correction window was open from December 22 to December 24, 2023, for any necessary changes.
  3. Exam Pattern:

Exam Pattern

The pattern of the AISSEE is explained below.

  • Mode of examination – Offline (OMR Sheet Based Test)
  • Number of questions – 125 for class 6th and 150 for class 9th
  • Type of questions – Objective type multiple choice questions
  • Maximum Marks – 300 for class 6th and 400 for class 9th
  • Language of questions – English, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi, Gujarati, Odiya, Assamese, Punjabi, Bengali, and Urdu. Only English for class 9th question paper
  • Negative Marking – There is no negative marking
  • Duration of exam – 150 Minutes (for class 6th) and 180 Minutes (for class 9th)
