Under the Annapurna Akshaya Patra Scheme, food packages are distributed to other places daily from 6 pm to 9 pm: –
- Vegetable Market (Transport Sector), Sector 26
- Labor Chowk, Manimajra
- Labor Chowk, (near EWS Colony), Dhanas
- Labor Chowk, Ram Darbar
- Labor Colony No. 4, Industrial Area, Phase 1
The project was started by the Indian Red Cross Society, Chandigarh, to provide affordable, clean, and nutritious food to people. UT Department of Chandigarh set up the kitchen in the Karuna Sadan Building, Sector 11-B for a total cost of Rs 70 lakh, where food packages will be prepared as per the scheme.

Main objectives of Annapurna Akshaya Patra Yojana -: The purpose of the Annapurna Akshaya Patra Scheme was to provide inexpensive, healthy, and nutritious food to the poor. Currently, the management has set a target of distributing 1,000 food packages per day which will later be increased to 10,000 food packages per day.
The AAPY Scheme aims to provide clean, affordable food to the needy in Punjab and Haryana at below-market prices.
