Bus travel facility for the visually impaired/bus concession
Delhi Transport Corporation provides free travel facilities in DTC buses for visually impaired people. Concession facilities are given to those who have at least 100% blindness. Before applying to the respective depot, the applicant needs to obtain a card from the Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM).
Eligibility for Delhi Disability Pension Scheme
To benefit from the pension scheme, the applicant must have the following qualifications. Details are given below.
- The applicant must be born in Delhi. The person has been staying in Delhi for at least 5 years.
- To benefit from this scheme, the applicant’s disability must be at least 40%.
- The annual income of a disabled person should be over Rs. 75,000.

Payment Method
An amount of Rs 1,500 is transferred monthly to the bank account through the ECS system of R.B.I. The concerned District Social Welfare Officer is the competent authority for verification, sanction, and payment of assistance under the scheme. If the assistance is approved, it must be paid starting from the month following the month in which the application is received, complete in all respects.
Beneficiaries who have reached the age of 60 are automatically transferred to the old-age assistance scheme.
