BSKY Nabin Card 2024
The Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY), the premier health program in the state, entered its third phase on Friday. By including all previously excluded rural households, the program is expected to cover 90% of the state’s population. Except for ordinary government employees and income taxpayers, all excluded rural households will be covered by the card, which will be billed as BSKY Nabin.
“Every life is precious…” has always been the guiding principle of Hon’ble Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik. The vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister was to assure quality healthcare to all citizens of the country, especially the vulnerable sections. To achieve this goal, the Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana was launched as a flagship program to provide universal health coverage, with a special focus on health protection for economically weak families.
To achieve its goals, BSKY consists of two components:
- The State Government will bear the entire cost of all health services provided to all patients (irrespective of income, status, or residence) in all healthcare facilities of the State Government starting from the center level to the District Headquarters, Government Medical College Hospital, and Blood Bank level.
- The state government will bear the cost of healthcare provided in empaneled private hospitals to over 96.5 lakh economically vulnerable families in the state, amounting to an annual health cover of Rs. 5 lahks per family and an additional Rs. 5 lahks for women of the family after exhausting the initial limit.
