Tamil Nadu Farms Loan Waiver Scheme was launched on 13th February 2021 for 16 lakh farmers with an outlay of Rs. 12,110 Crore. CM handed over the certificates to 9 growers as a mark of the official launch. The certificates stipulate the waiver of loans taken from cooperative banks due on January 31, 2021. The exemption will pave the way for farmers to continue growing crops without any hassle. Following the announcement, government orders were issued on February 8th to set the stage for the implementation of the TN Farm Loan Waiver Scheme/Program.

TN Kisan Karj Mafi Yojana was announced on February 5, 2021. Chief Minister K Palaniswami announced an announcement in the State Council, that the scheme will go into effect immediately. The financial allocation required for the Tamil Nadu farmer’s loan waiver scheme will be made by the government. Agricultural loans getting by 16.43 lakh farmers from cooperative banks will be waived.
All applicants who wish to take advantage of the Tamil Nadu Farm Loan Waiver Scheme can now verify their status. After the Kisan Karj Rahat Yojana in Tamilnadu payments are released in Tamil Nadu, the loans for UP farmers will be forgiven. Only candidates listed on the TN Farmer Debt Relief Scheme will qualify for a loan waiver.
