- Oil companies implement a new system that will be known as the Delivery Authentication Code (DAC). The system will help prevent theft and also identify the right customer.
- Initially, the Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) will be implemented in 100 smart cities. The pilot project started in the city of Jaipur in Rajasthan.
- To prevent theft of LPG cylinders, delivery will not be completed until a code for the delivery person appears on the consumer’s registered consumer number. The code will be sent to the consumer’s phone number.
- Consumers of LPG cylinders will have to update their mobile phone numbers, if they change the mobile phone number registered with the gas agency, the delivery of the LPG cylinder will be stopped.
- However, the Delivery Authentication Code (DAC) will not be applicable to a commercial LPG cylinder.
Why New Rules Have Been Made for Home Delivery?

The demand for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in the housing sector will continue to grow steadily in the cumulative annual growth rate (CAGR) of 3.3 percent, reducing the reliance on solid biomass in homes, to reach 34 million tons (metric tons) in 2030. This was mentioned in a longstanding report backed by average household income and urban residents.
Inspired by environmental and health concerns, the government has implemented plans to help low-income families meet the costs of switching from dirt biomass to LPG.
These Customers Will Have More Problems
However, this arrangement may cause some inconvenience to people who have not updated their mobile phone numbers with the petroleum company. With the new rule, customers who enter their ID and mobile phone number may have problems. Their delivery can be stopped due to incorrect information. This regulation will not apply to commercial cylinders. By this arrangement, it will be ensured that no gas delivery is made to any wrong person.
New Home Gas Cylinder Delivery System
It is recommended that customers update important details, such as address and mobile phone number, before carrying out the DAC operation to ensure the smooth delivery of LPG cylinders.
This new system was named DAC, i.e. Delivery Authentication Code. Now, with just reservations, the CD will not be delivered, but the code will be sent to your registered mobile phone, and this code will not be completed until you show the code to the delivery boy.
However, if a customer did not update the distributor’s mobile phone number, the delivery agent would have an app, through which you can update your number in real-time. And you will be able to generate the code after that.
In such a situation, customers whose addresses and cell phone numbers are wrong will face difficulties. However, due to this, the delivery of those cylinders could be stopped.
