Jagananna Jeeva Kranthi Scheme Details
Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy launched the AP Jaganna Jeeva Kranti or Yojana Sheep and Goat Distribution Unit on December 10, 2020. Under the Jagananna Jeeva Kranti scheme, the Andhra Pradesh government will provide sheep and goat units to BC / SC / ST / Minority Women. In the initial stage, 2.49 lakh units of sheep and goats were commissioned for this scheme through the Rayathu Bharsa Center (RBK).
All women between the ages of 45 and 60 who wish to be self-employed will benefit from the state government through the Andhra Pradesh Jagananna Jeeva Kranti Scheme. Sheep and goats will be allocated to women through Raitu Bharata Centers along with government financial assistance.

Objective Of Jagananna Jeeva Kranthi Yojana
The main objective of launching the Jagananna Jeeva Kranti Scheme is to provide partnerships and also provide more job opportunities for people who want to be self-reliant. This scheme will provide many different opportunities for all women belonging to backward groups. This will lead to more and more jobs. In addition, 31 lakh residential sites are being distributed to women and they will be registered under the name.
Women can purchase local sheep and goats from their area and they can benefit from the services of the committee that will be formed with two veterinarians. Officials from the SERP and banks will also guide them to select the appropriate sheep or goat units at a reasonable price.
Beneficiaries of the Jagananna Jeeva Kranti Scheme
According to this scheme, women will only benefit from the following communities.
- Backward Classes (BC)
- Scheduled Castes (SC)
- Scheduled Tribes (ST)
- Minority communities
Eligibility Criteria of Jagananna Jeeva Kranthi Yojana
The applicant must follow the following eligibility criteria to apply for the scheme: –
- The applicant must be a woman only
- The applicant must be over 45 years old
- The applicant must be under the age of 60
- The applicant must belong to one of the following categories: –
- Backward Classes (BC)
- Scheduled Castes (SC)
- Scheduled Tribes (ST)
- Minorities
Types of Sheep/Goat Units in the AP Jagananna Jeeva Kranti Scheme
The relevant authorities of the Andhra Pradesh state government will provide the following types of sheep at this opportunity; –
- Nellore Brown
- Macharla Brown
- Vizianagaram breeds
- Black Bengal in goats
- Native breeds
Implementing the Sheep/Goat Unit distribution scheme
The government of Andhra Pradesh has launched a sheep/goat distribution scheme to provide employment opportunities for impoverished and destitute women. An implementation process has been set up by the state government to avoid corruption and make the process transparent at the time units are purchased and distributed under the scheme. Accordingly, sheep and goat units will be distributed to the beneficiaries in three phases.
- First Phase: Distribution of 20 thousand units by March 2021, with the first installment/batch.
- Second Phase: 1,30,000 units distributed in the second installment from April to August 2021.
- Third Phase: Distribution of 99,000 units from September to December 2021, in the third installment/batch.
