What is the Jharkhand State Journalist Health Insurance Scheme
Chief Minister Hemant Soren has given his approval for the formation and drafting of the Jharkhand Journalist Health Insurance Scheme Rules Document for 2022 by the Information and Public Relations Department. Cabinet approval will now be taken for the proposal of this document.
Jharkhand State Journalist Health Insurance Scheme in Hindi – झारखंड राज्य सरकार ने पत्रकारों के लिए एक स्वास्थ्य बीमा योजना शुरू करने का फैसला किया है। अब झारखंड राज्य में कार्यरत सभी मीडिया प्रतिनिधियों को नई स्वास्थ्य बीमा योजना से जोड़ा जाएगा.
नई झारखंड राज्य पत्रकार स्वास्थ्य बीमा योजना नोटिस जारी होने के दिन से लागू होगी। मीडिया प्रतिनिधियों के लिए समूह बीमा योजना 2022-23 के नियम लागू होंगे। बीमा शुरू होने की तिथि से, बीमित व्यक्ति के मीडिया प्रतिनिधि, उसकी पत्नी/पति, दो अविवाहित बच्चे और 21 वर्ष तक के आश्रितों को लाभ प्राप्त होगा।
Who is included in the Jharkhand Journalist Health Insurance Scheme
Media workers are covered under the new health insurance scheme for Jharkhand state journalists which includes the following:-
- Editor in Chief
- News Editor
- Deputy Editor-in-Chief
- journalists
- photojournalist
- accident
- journalists
- painters
These media representatives will get the benefit
Any of the above media personnel working for any daily, weekly, fortnightly, monthly, tabloid newspaper, magazine, news agency, electronic media or new media (news-based website/portal (electronic) and serving as journalists and others as defined by Newspaper employees (Terms of Service) and Miscellaneous Provisions Act 1985 will be included in the Jharkhand Journalists’ Health Insurance Scheme.
Start date of media person health insurance scheme in Jharkhand
The new Jharkhand state journalist health insurance scheme will come into effect from the day the notice is issued. Rules of झारखंड राज्य पत्रकार स्वास्थ्य बीमा योजना, will be implemented in the form of group insurance for media representatives. As of the start date of the insurance, the media representative of the insured person with his/her spouse, two unmarried children, and dependents up to 21 years of age will receive the benefit.
Health insurance premium amount for Jharkhand Media employees
Under the Jharkhand State Journalist Health Insurance Scheme, the premium amount will be paid by the state government and the insured media representative at the rate of 80 and 20 respectively.

How to claim the sum insured under Jharkhand Media Journalist’s Health Insurance Scheme
Personal accident insurance for insured media representative Rs. 5 lakhs. Apart from this, medical expenses facility up to a total of Rs 5 lakh will also be provided for their dependents and all insured persons in connection with Group Mediclaim. This insurance plan will be valid for one year and there will be a clause to renew each year. Meanwhile, the following provision has been made for the claim:-
- Information on the specified claim form
- A copy of the FIR registered at the police station
- Autopsy report or medical board certification (as applicable)
- Death certificate
In the case of the accidental death of the insured journalist or permanent disability, a claim under the scheme may be submitted by the nominating member.
