At a total cost of around Rs.3,500 crore, the state government plans to provide electricity for agricultural purposes to all farmers during the day by 2022.

Main Features of the Gujarat Kisan Sarvoday Yojana
- The main purpose is to provide electricity to the various agricultural businesses of the farmers.

Gujarat first phase Kisan Sarvodai Yojana: About 1055 villages in Dahod, Junagadh and Gir Somnath districts will start getting electricity for daily agricultural operations in the first phase of the KISSUSAN project. The scheme targets around 17.25 farmers in Gujarat. Under the scheme, farmers will receive electricity in 2 shifts.
This is a long-pending request from farmers in Gujarat to get electricity for agricultural purposes during the day. Farmers need a regular power supply because they risk exposure to poisonous insects and wild animals in the fields at night, among other reasons.
Execution of the First Phase of the Kisan Sarvoday Yojana
According to the release of the implementation of the first phase under the supervision of Kisan Sarvodai Yojana -: કિસાન સર્વોદય યોજના, there are a total of 17.25 lakh agricultural electricity connections, which are divided into 153 groups in Gujarat. These kits get eight-hour three-phase power connections in 24 hours.
These groups receive an energy source in a way that some of them get 8 hours of energy a day, some get energy at night and some get energy during the day and partly at night.
Eligibility Criteria for Kisan Sarvoday Scheme
- As the scheme has been launched in Gujarat, only the natives of the state are eligible to receive the scheme benefits.
- While registering for the scheme, farmers will have to explain their landholding and other details.
