Details of UP Mahila Samarthya Yojana

Presenting the budget, State Finance Minister Suresh Khanna discussed schemes being put into place for the advancement of women. Khanna said, “Starting from FY 2022-2023, a new scheme called Mahila Sashakti Yojana will be launched and for this, a budget of Rs 200 crore has been put into the budget.” Chief Minister Kanya Sumangala’s scheme budget plan has been improved and implemented, and Rs 1,200 crore has been proposed to provide tablets for all eligible girls.

Need for Mahila Samarthya Yojana at UP

There are over 90 lahks small, medium, and large companies in the state. Among these, more than 80 lakhs have been installed in micro-units, which are operated within the home and cottage industries. Women-oriented enterprises have an important role in these industries and this Uttar Pradesh government master scheme will give new escape for women and women-oriented enterprises.

Implementation of UP Mahila Samarthya Yojana

To identify cottage and cottage industries problems, Mukhyamantri Samarthya Yojana will be operated in all 800 blocks of the state on a group approach basis.

Development of Women Common Facilitation Centres

In the first phase, joint women’s facilitation centers will be developed in 200 development blocks. These centers will be set up for training, co-production and processing, technical research and development, packaging, labeling, barcoding facilities, and more. The state government will raise the spending burden of 90 percent on these centers for each common facility center.

Formation of Two Committees At The Level

Under this UP Mahila Samarthya scheme, two-level committees will be formed at the state and district levels. District committees will be formed and chaired by district Magistrates and will work in coordination with the state-level steering committee to encourage women’s employment in the state. The committee will define and guide qualified women’s groups and organizations in each region.

To promote entrepreneurs/businesswomen in the state, public awareness programs, advisory programs, orientation visits, seminars, workshops, and training programs will be organized within the framework of this scheme within the framework of easy intervention.
