Odisha government launched Malati Devi Prak Vidyalaya Paridhan Yojana / ମଲାତି ଦେବୀ ପ୍ରକାଶ ବିଦ୍ୟାଲୟ ପରଦାନ ଯୋଜନା / मालती देवी परक विद्यालय परिधान योजना (पोशाक) on October 2 last year. In this scheme, govt. has distributed two sets of preschool uniforms for Gandhi Jayanti. This year, around 14.83 lakh school children in Anganwadi Centers (AWCs) have benefited from this standardized distribution scheme. Details of Malati Devi Prak Vidyalaya Paridhan Yojana
The main goal of Odisha Malati Devi Prak Vidyalaya Paridhan Yojana is to provide 2 sets of free school uniforms for preschoolers. Children belonging to sections of economically weaker society study in Anganwadi centers where uniform is a necessary condition. Their parents cannot purchase a new uniform for these children and ensure that poor parents benefit, this Uniform Distribution Scheme has been launched.
Now state govt. Offers free school uniforms (two sets) to every child who studies at AWCs. Around 14.83 lakh preschoolers studying in 61,040, AWCs have already received uniforms marking Gandhi Jayanti. The new initiative will encourage more students to attend school.

The program was attended by public representatives, PRI members, dignitaries, members of mothers / Jaanch committees, parents/grandparents of children, and school principals in the AWC area. COVID protocols were strictly followed during uniform distribution.
Color Code For Distributed Uniforms
Preschool kids are looking forward to a new uniform that gets them interested in attending childcare courses. This will also ensure that these preschoolers benefit from a host of other Anganwadi services. These services include the Supplemental Nutrition Program (SNP) and Early Childhood Care Education (ECCE).
By October 2nd, about 14.83 lakh preschoolers had received two (2) sets of uniforms according to color configuration. The color code for the distributed uniforms is Blue Color Pants and Pink Color Pants. About 1,344 self-help groups across the state were involved in sewing and supplying student uniforms at 61,040 school education schools.
