Punjab Mata Tripta Mahila Yojana Details
The cabinet approved the implementation of Mata Tripta Mahila Yojana to empower female-headed households in Punjab. There are 54,86,851 households (2011 census) in Punjab, of which 7,96,030 households are headed by women. This new policy aims to enable the families who head their women in Punjab and the only (adult) women to gain and make decisions.
It is estimated that for promotion and publishing programs to cover all eligible beneficiaries, additional arrangements of Rs 177.1 crores per year, including Rs 5 crores for IEC from 2021 to 2022, will be required. Under this scheme, the head of the household must be a widow/a woman living alone / a woman who lives separately from the family / a Divorced woman / an Unmarried woman who must be the only member to earn a return in the family.
Goals of Mata Tripta Mahila Yojana in Punjab
This scheme should focus on providing the benefits of the current/ongoing government schemes managed by the various departments. The primary goal of this pro-women initiative is to reach all needy families headed by women in the state government of Punjab. It will provide direct services/benefits to female-headed households. This scheme will guarantee women’s rights to health care, education, work, safety, and dignity in all areas of life.
In the new scheme, Punjab is govt. will undertake new initiatives and programs to cover aspects and needs that have not been adequately covered so far under any existing central/governmental sponsorship scheme or a scheme targeting women/girl children.

- Now the application form will be in front of you.
- Either take a printout of the pdf or fill it out through online mode.
- Enter all required details in the application form and attach the required document.

After applying, candidates have to wait for the official announcement of the list of eligible candidates, which will be announced shortly after the end of the application process.
Customize Mata Tripta Mahila Yojana – ਮਾਤਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਾ ਮਹਿਲਾ ਯੋਜਨਾ
At discretion, an additional allocation of Rs. 177.1 crores per year including Rs. 5 crores will be required for IEC activities from 2021-22. This customization of the Mata Tripta Mahila Yojana is required for new interventions. Moreover, the allocated amount will also be used for dissemination and outreach programs that will cover all eligible beneficiaries.

Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria listed below to be eligible for the Mata Tripta Mahila Scheme: –
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of Punjab.
- The applicant must be the head of the household.
- Being widowed/abandoned/separated/divorced / unmarried.
- She must be the only member of the family.
Empowerment of women through Mata Tripta Mahila Yojana
Empowerment of women through Mata Tripta Mahila Yojana refers to working to raise the status of women. This improvement in the status of women can be achieved through awareness, education, training, and equal opportunities everywhere. Thus, empowering women is all about equipping them to make decisions for themselves.
As per the 2011 census, women make up 47.23% of the total population of Punjab as opposed to 48.5% nationally. The total population of Punjab is 2.7 crores, among them, the number of males is 1.4 crores and females are 1.3 crores.
Through Mata Tripta Mahila Yojana, the Punjab government is committed to empowering women in the state. It has already taken many initiatives for women through special schemes and policies. The reservation of women in Panchayats and Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) has been increased to 50%. Likewise, the rate of women holding government jobs has been raised to 33%.
