Dear readers, the central government launched the PM One District One Focus Product Scheme / वन डिस्ट्रिक्ट वन फोकस प्रोडक्ट (ओडीओएफपी). The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare, in consultation with the Ministry of Food Industries, has finalized the ODOFP Scheme. Products from the agriculture, horticulture, animal, poultry, dairy, fisheries, aquaculture, and marine sectors were identified for 728 regions across the country. One District One Focus Product Scheme [ODOFP] Details
With the aim of promoting the export of agricultural products, the center has identified many products within 15 broad categories, with one product allocated to each of the 728 districts in the country so that there is the convergence of resources within the framework of different schemes of different ministries, and it also helps increase farmers’ income. Products from the agriculture, horticulture, animal, poultry, milk, fisheries, aquaculture, and marine sectors were identified across the country after taking inputs from the states, Union Territories, and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR).
The product listing was finalized under the One District One Focus Product Scheme 2022-23 after taking inputs from the States/UTs and the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). These ODOFP products will be promoted in a cluster approach through the convergence of Government of India schemes. The main objective of the One District One Focus Produce Scheme is to increase the value of the products with the ultimate goal of increasing the income of the farmers.
PM-FME Scheme – ODOFP Credit Linked Subsidy / Infrastructure Product Marketing
Under the Rs. 10,000 crore FME scheme, which was launched last year, two lakh small enterprises have been targeted for credit-related support over a five-year period to help establish the infrastructure and commercialize ODOFP products. The unorganized food processing sector contains approximately 25 lakh units (66% located in rural areas), which contributes to 74% of the total employment in this sector, while the remaining 25% work in organized industries.

Supporting Products in the One District One Focus Produce Scheme
Products identified under the One District One Focus Product Scheme will be supported under the formalization of PM for small food manufacturers. The PM-FME scheme of the Ministry of Food Manufacturing Industries aims to provide incentives for promoters and small enterprises. Many products also include resource convergence and approaches from other departments.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Farmer Welfare will support ODOFP from its ongoing centrally sponsored schemes such as MIDH, NFSM, RKVY, and PKVY. The implementation of ODOFP by state governments will benefit farmers and provide support to achieve expectations of value addition and thus boost agricultural exports.
Background of a One District One Focus Product Scheme
The program called One District One Focus Produce (ODOFP) was announced earlier on Saturday. It took nearly 9 months to design after Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his interaction with officials in May last year about ways to boost the agriculture sector. PM Modi stressed the importance of developing Brand India for which agricultural clusters can be strengthened. The government has already set a target of achieving $ 60 billion in agricultural exports by the Finacial Year 2022.
