In Chennai, Bharathi Women’s College held an event. During the function, Mr. Kejriwal presented 26 distinguished schools and 15 model schools set up by the Tamil Nadu government in imitation of the AAP administration in Delhi. Through this scheme, financial assistance of Rs. 1000 per month will be provided to girls till completion of a UG degree/diploma/ITI/any other recognized course. The incentive amount under this scheme will be disbursed directly into the student’s bank account.
About 1.13 lakh girls in 2nd, the 3rd and 4th years of technical education have applied for the Pudhumai Penn scheme and an important portal has been created so that students can fill out the application form for this scholarship opportunity and start applying for the scholarship opportunities from the first phase of this scheme. The second phase will benefit about 1.04 lakh more girls. After implementing this scheme, about 12,000 girls resumed their education after an interruption. This scheme will ensure a higher education enrollment ratio of 25%.
