The Telangana government launched another welfare scheme for the Yadava and Kurma communities. The government will distribute about 42 lakh sheep to eligible people across the state and sheep will be distributed in the current financial year (FY) and a similar number of sheep will be distributed next year.

Traditional shepherd families will be supported by supplying (20 + 1) sheep on a 75% subsidy with total project expenditures of Rs. 5,000 crores.
