West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee on Thursday announced a new Swasthya Sathi Health Scheme that could cover all residents of WB. The CM has launched many new schemes to help residents improve their lives and save them from the disastrous effects of Coronavirus. The new scheme will be implemented from December 1, 2020, according to the Chief Minister’s announcement. It also announced that the fully cashless health Scheme has been funded by the West Bengal state government.

Salient Features of the Swasthya Sathi Card Scheme

Following are the salient features of the Swasthya Sathi Card Scheme launched by the West Bengal State Government: –

Basic Secondary and Tertiary Care health coverage up to Rs. 5 lakh per year per family.
Up to Rs 1.5 Lakh through insurance mode and onwards from 1.5 to 5 Lakhs through guarantee mode.
The National Insurance Company was an insurance partner in 9 regions and the United India Insurance Company in 11 regions as of 02/28/2018. The scheme was implemented in escrow mode for March 2018.
From 01.04.2018 to 15.01.2020, Bajaj Allianz was selected as an insurance partner in 18 provinces, and from 01.04.2018 to 31.12.2019, IFFCO TOKYO was selected as an insurance partner in 5 regions. The service of 5 areas has been extended by Swasthya Sathi Assurance Mode until 01/15/2020.
Service continued by the new insurance company as of 01/16/2020. The National Insurance Company was selected as an insurance partner in 6 Districts (Group-I), Oriental Insurance Company was chosen as the insurance partner in 9 regions (Group-II), and the United India Insurance Company was chosen as an insurance partner in 8 regions (Group-III)).
